NHS Eligibilty
If you are 60 or above, the NHS will fund your eye examination. You are entitled to a home visit eye test, providing you are unable to attend an optician unchaperoned.
If you receive the following benefits, you are entitled to an NHS voucher/spectacles.
- If you and/or your partner receives Income Support
- If you and/or your partner receives universal credit and meets the criteria (find out more at www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/UC
- If you and/or your partner receives Pension Credit Guarantee
- If you and/or your partner receives Income-based Jobseekers Allowance
- If you and/or your partner receives Tax Credit and I/we are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate
- If you and/or your partner has a valid HC2 certificate (certificate number and expiry date required)
- If you and/or your partner has a valid HC3 certificate (certificate number, expiry date and amount that voucher will be reduced by, are all required).
If you do not receive any benefits listed above but are 60 or above, your eye test will still be funded by the NHS but you will have to pay for your spectacles.
Private Sight Test Fees
If you are not entitled to an NHS, Onsight Domiciliary Services will be happy to provide you with a privately funded eye examination.
A private eye examination can be provided for a fee of £30. A discounted fee of £20 is offered for a subsequent family member.
